Hands…

I’ve been kind of paranoid lately, about my hands. My grandmother, who spent most of her life as a house-wise, and did crocheting and knitting (and bunka) quite often has carpal tunnel syndrome, and… well the more I think about it, the more paranoid I get.

There is quite literally nothing that I do without the use of my hands. Especially when it comes to drawing… though I guess TECHNICALLY the most important thing is having a working pair of eyeballs. I spend a good few hours daily drawing and sketching, plus computer time. And writing in class. And doing things on my phone… and… EVERYTHING. It really scares me.

So i’ve been doing hand stretches and exercises for the last week or so. I already notice an improvement, but it was quite frightening the first day I started when my right hand was noticeably less flexible than my left hand. On the left I could bend my thumb down to touch my wrist no problem, but the right wouldn’t go any closer than half an inch without my pushing it (and an amount of pain).

I guess this is kind of a silly post, and it’s really just me rambling… but I feel the need to get this off my chest. You know, so when i’m old and frail and someone asks why my hands are crumpled up and useless, I can at least tell them I did try to take care.

Anyway, as for ISWO, I have more coding done (yay for learning renpy), and i’m working on backgrounds more. I will post some preview pictures for the backgrounds when I finish them, but for now, sorry, I don’t have any images to show. Unfortunately the backgrounds from here on out are slightly more complicated than the apartment… Ailen’s cafe is the main focus for me right now, and I must say, if I never have to draw another cafe scene again in my life it will be too soon.

Anyway, see you soon

(PS, I guess this blog is becoming sort of like a diary. That’s kind of fun? For me at least…)
